Hold onto your broomsticks, because October is officially here! As the weather creeps towards bone-chilling cold, bundling up with a blanket, a warm fire, and a great book becomes more and more appealing. With Fall being one of the most magical times of year, it’s no wonder that when the leaves begin to change everyone’s favorite wizard-hero is on the brain; Harry Potter.
Jassby is excited to announce the start of a Monthly Book Club! While our main goal has always been to promote financial literacy, creating a positive reading experience is also important. We believe that quality time with a book can work wonders for the imagination and so for October’s book of the month, Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone felt appropriate! The story of Harry Potter is one of great nostalgia for the generation that grew up reading about the young witches and wizards returning to their school of Witchcraft after a long summer’s break. New and experienced readers alike are still excited about this famous story to this day.
From the mythical beasts to the well-thought-out spells, Rowling expertly crafts a universe that is filled with Autumnal-witchy goodness. What better way to get into the spooky spirit than to read the book about “the Boy Who Lived”? Not only does the series have excellent character development and builds foundations for emotional literacy, but the plot and the overall setting make it easy to picture Hogwarts and all of the occupants so your little ones can follow along.
So whether you are a Harry Potter veteran looking to pass down the experience of reading your favorite book, or a total newbie, this series is great for all muggles and wizards alike.
